  1. Ok so it has a 2GB HDD - erm - I would leave well alone
  2. Wolfey that's not a nice thing to say  wait until Mara gets hold of you lol and as for Seth - brown bear - more like gummy bear LMAO
  3. It will be very slow and very cheaply made for £100 - I have seen similar web books, but none that cheap. you may be able to access the net and use excel etc but the HDD will be very small. It is up to you but I would guess that you get what you pay for and £100 is not alot.
  4. Yeah they are all really bad - I read or watched on a geography channel or something that sea snakes are the most poisenous kind  Agreed in the fact that they are not just roaming about and you would be hard pressed to just see any near your house for example. Still - there are animals in nearly every continent that can kill people, native or not they are there.
  5. Bears are very dangerous I agree - I would not like to end up being on the receiving end of a bear tearing my arm off and hitting me with the soggy end  LMAO as for spiders and snakes for such small creatures they are hard to avoid most of the time - at least you can see bears.
  6. I have seen that before - NICE  I have seen plenty that have half consumed humans in them too  I will remain in the most taxed country, we have snakes too but they mostly reside in government
  7. Ok first off I take it SC2 is Starcraft 2? can you tell us what your PC has in it at the moment becuase if you only have a 300Watt PSU then you are very limited depending what CPU you have.
  8. Are the RAM sticks new? if you are using 4GB of RAM then you will HAVE to alter the timings and the Volatage manually in the BIOS when the PC is working but we will come to that later ;)
  9. lol - Seth in AU - he needs to be more bothered about:- DEADLY spiders CROKS (OBVIOUSLY DEADLY :D) DEADLY snakes SHARKS (no Seth not inland :p they have not evolved that much) to name just a few - LMAO
  10. Finn, I was looking into this lastnight and the cases that take EATX boards are really expensive some are £300 + If you are after just a more compact PC for say in your front room, then you may be better getting a shuttle or another barebone system as they are near silent, compact and they have enough space in them for 2 HDD's an optical drive and an uprated GPU if you wanted one. would work out cheaper and be smaller :D
  11. Yeah raw fish does not appeal to me either  YUK
  12. ok have you tried booting the system with just one of the sticks in? some MOBO's especially budget ones really struggle with 2GB sticks and the board may need a BIOS update before it even recognises the RAM.
  13. I have never seen that pic before - thats amazing in terms of the scale of Australia - I knew it was big, but I never saw a comparison that put it to scale like that Doug - Amazed  Seth moving to AU or NZ - isn't that a huge climate change, Seth I pictured you wearing those huge lumberjack jackets and arctic clothing lol When I retire I want to move to Canada - I love the cold :D
  14. It is very uncommmon for the CCFL to go within 7 months, but it is a possibility - Davy if the laptop is still under warranty as it should be then send it to them, and see what they say - I would say as others have suggested that the screen is broke, and as mentioned previously this only normally happens when the screen is picked up by the screen side of the laptop, the ribbon normally gets stretched or the screen cracks. Ship it off to the menders (under warranty) and let us know how you get on please.
  15. Have you checked that you have put the connectors for the Case to the MOBO in the right ways - its easy to overlook and can cause serious problems. what speed memory are you trying to run?
  16. Right - you have listed that you have changed and tested all the components that can be causing this, it can only be one of the items that you chose, or that they are not plugged in properly - did you change anything other than having to hard reboot the PC?
  17. Even though AMD is the proud owner of multiple chipset lines, including their original chipsets along with the Radeon line, they actually have a minority share of chipsets for their own platforms. According to recent research, it is actually Nvidia who will be found sharing space with most AMD processors. More than 60%, in fact. This figure has remained steady despite AMD's chipsets like the AMD 7 series helping them make a comeback, going from 26% to 37% in the past year. The share AMD has won has largely come from SiS and VIA, it seems. It's interesting that one of AMD's biggest competitors is the chipset of choice for their processors. If recent trends are an accurate depiction of how this will change, AMD should gain share pretty quickly. Read the full article at Nvidia holds 60% of AMD CPU chipset market - TechSpot News
  18. If you are just getting to the RAM there should be a small plate at the bottom that you undo and there are 2 RAM chips and you push the 2 sides in and then lift the RAM stick up and it slides out - same on the one below it. It's hard to explain but it is easy to do as long as you push the metal clips in either side then you will be fine
  19. Finn, There are lots of Horizontal Media cases that take Extended ATX boards. Mostly Antec and Zalman cases do as they are enthusiast based.
  20. We have had a few posts where people needed to uninstall SP3 before installing IE7
  21. No problem, and thanks for letting us know :)
  22. Running an exe is easier but there are so many things that need to be right - I would try the Vista update method first and then I would try the CD Method - they then will at least work.
  23. I think that getting the disks that came with your laptop out and then uninstalling the drivers for the sound and then rebooting and then insert the CD that came with the laptop and then telling windows to search the D drive for the files may be worth a shot.
  24. There must either be a problem with the image that Norton has taken - or the DVD drive itself - I would suspect the first, try and re run the ghost and see if it then accepts the disks. Is this the first backup that you have done with Norton?
