vista and o2 mobile broadband problem
Dalo Harkin replied to paul slade's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
BeeCeeBee is right - you have to install the driver software with admin rights - or you may require admin rights to use it. -
It would appear to me that you have incorrectly flashed the BIOS - set your first boot device to CDROM in the BIOS - save and then exit. Insert the MOBO disk and it should boot the MOBO disk - there should be an option to reflash the BIOS. IF not you are in a right mess and need a BIOS replacement (which is not easy if you are a beginner and you have to source the same chip)
-
Ok - pop the CMOS battery out of the Motherboard (when the pc is off) and wait 30 seconds - then reinsert it and boot the pc - do the beeps still remain
-
You can slave the drive and get the info off - whip the side panel off your case - add the drive to a spare power molex (some require the specific SATA cable) and a SATA data cable. when you hook it up you then just go to Admin tools in control panel and then disk management and activate the disk and drag and drop what you need. Then format the disk and keep it in your new one as a backup or storage :)

In-Car Portable Media/Audio Center

They are extortionately expensive mate. you can buy specific cases designed for cars etc. In all honesty you are far better off 'buying an ipod' If you really want to go down the route of a PC, I can help as I have done one before for a car - but it was not cheap. -
Right - when you pop the cmos battery all the information thats stored on the BIOS gets set back to how it was when it was made. So any thing that the BIOS may be causing the PC not to boot, is essentially reset. If you are still getting the error then you have added some hardware to the PC that it does not recognise and you can either remove it and then install the drivers, or try and boot to safe mode

Increased RAM having no apparent effect
Dalo Harkin replied to muggles's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Well my initial response to this was that the RAM must be different speeds and when you do that they ALWAYS run at the lower speed (all of them) But yours are all the same speed so its not that - as you have more than 2 sticks of RAM in you are better off checking the manufacturers website as you will probably need to increase the Volts and maybe the refresh rate -
thats what I said :)

I was trying to hold my emotions back -
Unplug the lead and check the insides are clean. Then reinsert the cable and make sure it is screwed in (dont overdo it or next time it will pull the retainers too)

Ba boom, and he is here all week guys (yeah I grimace at the thought too :D) that was quite good for you - still if I was away for god knows how long practicing my jokes so you may return and take vengeance on those that broke you to insanity, I would have hoped for a better response :) -
Welcome, Post away, there isn't much we can't do (in regards to PC's anyway :D) Just noticed you have Windows Media Centre Edition - that's problem 1 he he

Hi guys and gals (that's for Maynard now he is back :D) I was reading the other day that alot of Monitor manufacturers have started to use cheaper displays and effectively overclock the pixels  Obviously this leads to high fail rates for one and ghosting and image blur

You will also have a backup of the BIOS on the MOBO disk if all else fails, depending on how old the MOBO is

It sounds like heat has originally caused the issue, and it has damaged the GPU, whether it be the RAM on the GPU or the GPU itself. Send it to DELL under warranty
