  1. Hi Ray We cannot assist with this in open forum for obvious reasons. I have sent you a PM.
  2. Hi Ray We cannot help with this in open forum - for obvious reasons. I have sent you a PM.
  3. Hi and welcome to ExTS We don't recommend C-C or any other registry cleaner as they can cause problems. Try uninstalling the software. Shut down. Plug in the Printer and switch on. Windows 7 should find new hardware and install the drivers for it. ( if you are lucky ) If not you will be prompted to install the disk and point the software to it to complete the install process.
  4. Hi Can you post the BSOD Stop Error please. When you ran the Memtest - how long did you let it run ? Can you run the machine in Safe Mode ? Switch on and tap F8 about once per second. Select Safe Mode from the list of options.
  5. I used to work with somebody who came from Bangladesh - He is a really great guy. It seems that not all people from Bangladesh are as pleasant ! You only came here to spam the forums - naughty !!
  6. Good to hear that you are happy with your new hardware :) Many thanks to Vr5fx for your help and advice on this one :)
  7. Hi and welcome to ExTS It does sound like the PSU has taken the m/board too. Take a look here: http://kenspchelp.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=172 Assuming that you have an internal speaker - you should get POST beeps when the m/board etc is stripped down to just the PSU power connections.
  8. Hi and welcome to ExTS The drivers for your XP OS are here: click here Select XP from the drop-down menu.
  9. Keep us informed - :)
  10. Let us know how you get on. If your ex tech resolves the problem I would be interested to know what it was :)
  11. OK Go back and Put a check in " Use the following DNS ...." In the preferred type in 8.8.8.8 In the one below type in 8.8.4.4 OK this. Try the connection again. If no go - change it back to automatic.
  12. Thanks for the feedback :)
  13. If it is a Win 7 machine then the Hosts File is correct. I was half hoping that it may have been another OS. Not sure this is totally correct path for Win7 but try it ( I am on Vista ) Start > Control Panel > Nework & Sharing > Manage Network Connections Right click on "Wireless Network Connections" > Properties Highlight TCP/IPv4 > Properties Are both IP Address and DNS set to "Obtain Automatically" ? ============ It looks as if this is a router or ISP problem if all of these machines and OSs are affected. Trying a work-around for one machine if we can.
  14. No Sometimes malware can add to the Hosts file. # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost Try this ............. It will probably mess things up and you will need to change it back. Mine is set as below: 127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhost I assume that the OS on this machine is Win7 ( this is a win7 hosts file set up ) With the # the line is remmed out. Not sure how your tech set up the system but it is easy to test. Go back to the "Hosts" file and remove the "Read Only" > OK Open the file in Notepad and remove the # from the 2 local host lines. File > Save in Notepad. Close Notepad and open Hosts file again to make sure the changes have taken place. If all is OK right click on Hosts > Properties and check "Read Only" again. Try Kenya Airways etc. Checking the read only option will not allow the Hosts file to be added to - unless you uncheck it. Which OS are you using on this machine ?
  15. I think it is a DNS problem. What is the make and model number of the routers ? Is the problem with ALL machines on the network ? ============== On a machine that cannot connect to Kenya Airways normally: Start > Computer > C:\ > Windows > System32 > Drivers > etc Double click on "Hosts" When prompted select "Notepad" Copy the Hosts file and post here please. Do not alter it in any way. Do not save it. ============== Right click on the "Hosts" file > Properties Is "Read Only" checked ? If not put a check there > OK
  16. What is the make and model number of your laptop ? Most laptops have a switch to turn off the wireless adapter - is yours on ? Start > type in .......devmgmt.msc ..........ENTER Click the + next to "Network Adapters" What is listed ? Any yellow exclamation marks or red Xs ?
  17. kljones = fast_hands_harry Try Google :)
  18. Hi and welcome to ExTS I have to agree with the others - there are too many variables here. Try this on the computers that cannot access Kenya Airways: Open the browser and highlight the address bar ( http:// etc etc ) > Delete it Type in ( or copy and paste this ) 217.64.230.153 then hit ENTER This is the IP Address of Kenya Airways Can you access it this way ?
  19. BeeCeeBee has suggested twice that you check the following: Start > Control Panel > Network Connections You should see the Wireless Connection Right Click on this > Properties > Highlight Internet Protocol by single click on this > click Properties tab that is underneath "Obtain IP Address ....." and "Obtain DNS Address ...." should be set to automatic. If they have any numbers in the boxes put a check against .......Obtain an IP Address ............Obtain DNS server ..... Then click OK Try connection.
  20. Good Luck with the new machine :)
  21. Did you try the link that explained about no POST beeps ? You will need to re-install the OS unless the new m/b is exactly the same as the old one.
  22. The expansion slots shown in the specs are an error. They(expansion slots) refer to PCI and PCIe slots - for Video Cards etc.
  23. Thanks for the OTL results - one of our security experts should get to you soon :)
  24. Hi and welcome to ExTS ECC (Error Correcting Code) RAM checks for errors in the transfer of data. This type of RAM has an extra chip on the module to facilitate this extra function. Non-ECC does not have the extra chip. If in doubt then Non-ECC is the way to go as motherboards that support ECC will undoubtably support Non-ECC too. But m/boards that support only Non-ECC are not compatible with ECC Modules. This specification for your motherboard suggests that it is compatible with both ECC and Non-ECC K8V-MX Specs
  25. Try taking the battery out and running just on the charger ( adapter ). Some laptops don't allow this but many do. It could be that the battery is causing the problem.
