Hi, Try taking the battery out. Use the mains connection and try to boot up on this alone. If this doesn't work try taking the RAM out and - if there are two modules - replace just one. Try booting up. No go? Swap the modules over.

Happy to hear that you have it sorted. Mine "drops out" every now and again and I have to unplug the Master for 10 seconds then plug in again. This doesn't happen often - but be aware just in case it happens to you :)

Hi, You can download the drivers directly from the HP site. click here You need to make sure that you select the correct Operating System. Once downloaded you should be able to click on the .exe file and install the drivers.

If you can take the hard drive out it is a simple job to put it in an enclosure [ quite inexpensive ] and connect it by USB to another machine. Video explains - There are slightly different enclosures but the principle is the same. The hard drive in the enclosure would be treated like a USB memory stick.

It could be the case that there is no recovery partition on that drive or the drive is corrupt. It does look as if your hard disk has died. The only way to check this is to take the hard disk out of the machine and connect it to another working machine. From here it is possible to recover files / photos from the problem disk and to run some tests on it. Is this a possibility? You could also take the disk to a reputable computer tech and have them check it over. This would obviously cost you and if you decide on this route you need to know what the tech is going to charge for the test.

Hi, We are assuming that there actually is a Recovery Partition on your system. Go into the BIOS and make the hard drive [ C: ] the first in the Boot Order. This will then bypass the CD/DVD etc. Try ALT and F10 again. [ tap F10 at least once per second ] The P-Bell site suggests waiting until the Logo appears before using ALT and F10.

You are confusing yourself :) What Starbuck says is correct. If you have a new CD with Win7 on it then this is not a problem. You would simply use the Product Key that comes with the new CD. [ you couldn't, however, use the old OEM Product Key ] I think I confused you by supplying too much information.

You say that your system was pre-installed. This fact - plus the Error Message above indicates that your Operating System is OEM [ Original Equipment Manufacturer ] OEM installations have certain restrictions. You cannot use the OEM Product Key with a different installation of the OS other than an OEM version. So if you are trying to install a full version of Windows Professional say - you would not be able to use your OEM Product Key. You would only be able to use this key if the OS you are installing is exactly the same as the original. If you changed the motherboard / hard-drive you may experience problems too.

Hi Jimmy Take a look at "Configure Restore Settings" Try allocating more disk space. The system will delete older restore points if there is not enough allocated space to store them. I have over 200 attachments and have never had to delete any. Are you getting a "Full" message ?

Hi Jimmy, If you have not turned System Restore off and deleted the previous dates it is possible that malware could have done this. If you suspect that this is the case I am sure that Starbuck would take a look at your system for you. If System Restore is turned on then Windows should create a restore point automatically. Take a look here for more information - click here Make sure that System Restore is enabled. I would suggest after doing so that you re-Start the system and check that System Restore is still enabled.

This was probably the reason why the drivers could not be removed. Good to hear :)

Hi Download Revo-Uninstaller from here - click here You want the FREE version. Install and run it. Revo should locate the printer software. Click on the software that you want to remove and from the toolbar at the top click on "Uninstall" During the uninstall process you will be given 3 options. I normally leave the removal process on the default option. After removing the software you are given the option to scan for left over files. This will locate Registry entries too. If you are not sure about this stage just leave it - or ask and we can advise further.

Hi again, Using a second router as a range extender is not straight-forward. If you want to have a go then take a look here - click here There are lots of videos on Youtube if you want more info. The simplest method - by far - is to use a range extender that uses the house mains wiring system. The main unit plugs in near the router. The extender unit uses a socket in the loft. Some extender units allow both wifi and Ethernet connections. Some have the option of having a usable mains socket within the unit - so you don't lose the use of the wall socket. See here - Some extenders use just one device. This is not as efficient as the method used in the video. Hope this helps.

Hi, Do you get this slowing down if you use a different browser [ Internet Explorer / FireFox for instance ] ? I suggest as a test: Open Chrome and go to your Yahoo email page. Copy the address from the top - the address starts with http://www.... To copy - highlight it then CTRL + C Then open a different browser. In the address box at the top Paste your copied address. [ CTRL + V ] See if your email runs ok here.

Type in - diskmgmt.msc ............. nothing else ........then ENTER You will, of course, need to have the external drive connected.
