These are the steps that I follow: I follow the Custom Installation (and I have also tried the Express installation with the same results) and click on INSTALL. I watch the install as follows: Initializing installation... done! Installing Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2792100) (update 1 of 1)... The overall progress gets about half way across and if fails with a COPY ERROR box that says: "An error occurred while copying file ieuinit.inf. Cannot copy file to destination directory. Click Retry to retry the operation or click Cancel" Clicking retry just brings the COPY ERROR box back immediately so I choose CANCEL. Then I get displayed "Do you want to continue Setup without copying this file YES or NO" I have tried both options and I always get: "Some updates could not be installed. The following updates were not installed: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2792100)" This looks to have been failing since the first week of Feb 2013. I ran windows update yesterday and installed the advised updates, on restarting my laptop today the error message "couldn't load main class" appeared in a box and I couldnt do anything until I had closed this box, after that on loading firefox it displayed a not responding message, then a bar opened stating that adobe plug-in didnt start properly so I clicked to re-load page, I then restarted my laptop to see if this had resolved the issue but the same error message appeared and firefox responded in the same way, has anyone any idea how I can resolve this issue? I run comodo anti-virus and malware software and my OS is windows vista 32. I also downloaded an update for adobe flash yesterday but the problem didnt occur until after I had done the windows updates. Thank you View this thread

Seems to me that since early January to mid February 2013 (to date) something is going wrong with updates not showing in Installed Updates and my computer becoming unreliable. I use Microsoft Security Essentials (which I have been updating daily) but none of these nor my Windows Updates (which there are none of since 13 February 2013) are listed although I have been running Windows Update daily. I have a new Windows 8 laptop. It is setup to go to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is also setup to download and install Windows updates at 3 AM. I'd like to know if it will still download and install those updates, even if it is asleep? View this thread

I have a brand new Samsung laptop, only one week old, & have done very little on it except learn how to navigate around windows 8. I downloaded msa. I went to run and it showed program with unknown publisher. Asked if I would allow this program to make changes to my computer and I checked yes. It started running and then stopped after a brief note saying the file is corrupt. View this thread

After the stated above update was installed, my computer wanted a to restart to finish configuration. When it rebooted, I continually got a message screen with a sad text talk face and a message saying that there was a problem and that a restart was required. There was an error message code 0xc000021a. The only way I've been able to fix this is to use restore points on my computer, and troubleshooting the updates until I found out that this update was the cause of the problem. If anyone has any answers as to why this is happening, it would much appreciated. My laptop is a Toshiba Tecra R950, Intel Core i5-3320M with 4.00 GB RAM, Video AMD Radeon HD 7570M run Windows 8 pro.
