Why can't I access Hotmail/Outlook from Google Chrome? This has been going on since the switch to Outlook/Hotmail, and frankly it's somewhat annoying and inconvenient. I have to switch to FireFox to access my Hotmail account. Why should I have to do that when I am already using Google Chrome. View this thread

Hey all, So i have am creating an image for some of our older work stations that were running XP. I have created a custom image that uses classic start, and i mounted the .wim image and uninstalled the metro applications with dism.exe. But when a new user logs in the applications are still there. I have remounted the image and to double check that the applications did uninstall, and they did, but they are reinstalling themselves for new users. Whenever I lock my Windows 8 usgin Windows Logo Key + L, few of my keys like "o" etc stop working. Step are below:- 1. Lock Windows 8 using Windows Logo Key + L 2. Try to unlock the Windows 8. 3. When I type my password in password field to unlock, few keys doesn't work like "O", "u", etc. 4. Then I use "Ease of Use" -> "Filer Keys" -> ON and then Off. After doing so, all ket start working. If you are at the desktop, Win 8 will boot back to the desktop on a restart or power down. If you drag the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner, that pop-out bar shows. You can select Power, and then you can select Power-Down or Restart. When the O/S reboots, it will show the Start-page for a couple of seconds, and then it will go back to the desktop. :) I love it, since I am at the desktop about 95% of the time. I think this works well on a laptop where it's being powered down for transportation and turned back on, which I do twice a day between work and home. I think logging off and then powering down on Win 8 is not needed, like on the previous versions of the Windows O/S to prevent that I have always done in the past. View the full article

My wife's deesktop is running XP (latest & greatest update) and Outlook Express 6.0.2900.5512. I am not sure what she did, nor how she did it but she managed to lose all of her Personal folders & associated messages. They are not within any of the "system" local folders, including the Deleted Items folder (lots of messages there, but no embedded folders). Went Pooffffff. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about "searching" for them, by what name(s), etc.??? Restarting was not a solution - majic didn't happen! Thx, Joe Buckhoff View this thread

Hoping to implement Office 365 on Windows 7 clients for work, however, it getting the "Something went wrong" message after it gets to 10%-12%, even after over 10 attempts. Based on what I found from other posting, this sounds like its caused by connection speed. Being that this is for work, it may not be an option to just increase our internet bandwidth. According to Speedtest.net, our download and upload speed is slightly above 2.5Mbps. Does anyone know the download speed baseline is for Office365 and is there a way around manually downloading it onto each client? Thanks in advance. Roget Luo View this thread

As the title says, my IE 10 keeps crashing, even at start. The app works fine. I've learnt from another discussion how to get the .dmp file for the crashes and I've uploaded a few of them to my SkyDrive but somehow I can't post links on here. Does anyone know how to fix this? In windows security my windows update is turned off and when I go to Microsoft Updates in Control panel it shows it being on. I am unable to receive updates. Windows Fix - it says: Default Windows update locations have changed and must be repaired. To repair change windows update locations to window default settings. How do I perform that? This afternoon, after a re-start suggested by Security Essentials, I find my self unable to log in to Windows XP. When I try to log-in I get a message that Windows needs to be activated. When I click OK I get a message that Windows is activated already which asks me to cancel. When I cancel I get logged off and sent back to the log in screen. I am stuck in this loop preventing log-in. No amount of subsequent re-starts is getting me out of the loop. I also am unable to start Windows in safe mode using F8. Is there some way around this loop which is preventing me starting up Windows? View the thread

It doesn't matter what monitor I have showing my work, when I unplug the external monitor, my PC screen goes blank. When I plug the external monitor back in, the PC screen comes back on. How do I get the PC screen back on? I have tried every combination in Control Panel. View the thread
