Recently we had posted a WMV file into a file share on our network for users to view. We found an issue with Windows 8 workstations that were viewing the video that if they navigated forwards or backwards in the video the audio portion would play properly, however the screen image would not change from the last image viewed for sometimes up to to a minute later. I have Windows 7, 64 bit and I am trying to download HP G3110 scanner. When downloading, either from disc or the internet, it tells me that the Operating system on this computer is not supported and installation cant continue until this is resolved. I have been trying to pin websites to the start menu via IE 10 Metro. However, even after I choose to create one, the tiles are not showing up within the apps, or upon the start screen. A windows easy transfer has taken place between an old computer and the one I am trying to create the tiles upon and I'm curious if that might be causing an error for some reason, or if the tiles are malfunctioning in some manner. Hi all, I have run into a highly annoying issue. Windows 8 hangs on shutdown, restart, or sign off. This just started occurring. If I shutdown from the login screen it works, but once in the system, it fails. I can restart from a command line, but I need to be able to shutdown normally. No new programs have been installed. Howevever, if am working on a worksheet and want to mail the same there's a error cropping up stating " There's no email program associated to perform the requested action. took pc to local shop who reloaded windows 7. Windows live now appears with just words in the tool bar (new, reply, forward etc) and I have to select one for a dropdown to select action. Before reload bar was full or symbols etc foe each type of action and I just selected. It was quite deep and was red background ( I think). How do I get it back please? View the thread

I had a malware issue on my desktop which I managed to clean up. Unfortunately I had to reset the windows 8 firewall to default. What this has meant though is that the store and my other windows 8 apps are no longer present in the windows 8 firewall list. So, I cannot get the store to work. I have compared it to my windows 8 laptop and I note that the store entry is present but it seems to be system entered. I've run sfc /scannow, etc. but have had no joy with anything and I seriously don't want to reset the PC to get this working. How do I add back the store credentials into the firewall so I can get the store app to work? Loading up fiddler2 does allow some apps through, but not the store app which is the key to life, the universe and everything ;) Would appreciate any assistant as even google won't help me on this one. I have(had) only one login account that was administrator for win 7 ultimate. That account has become disabled. I tried to reset my computer with the win 7 installation disk(restore). That will not work. I have tried to start in "safe mode"..that does not work. I have tried to get to C:/ but I cannot get to that screen. Everytime I start the computer it goes to the logon screen with no way to get beyond that... is there a way unlock the drive? Or should I start over with a new hard drive? View the thread

I'm working on revising our corporate Windows 8 image when a security guy was reminding me that I needed to run Windows updates to download the latest office updates. Tried doing it on our image which has the silent install of Office 2013 customized from the OCT tool, and I get no updates for Office. The security guy that did get the updates did a straight install of Office 2013 off the ISO. So I figure there is probably a setting on the OCT that will enable automatic downloads. View this thread
