i had Microsoft office 2007 installed in my system (licenced version). I have another copy of Microsoft office 2013 available with me. Can i install office 2013 along with office 2007 and run those both parallelly. i.e without upgrading 2007 to 2013 View this thread

Everytime I download their software from their website, the installation does not complete because windows detects and blocks the executible file from Mcafee because it does not have a valid digital signature to verify the publisher. Is there a way I can disable this temporarily on my PC and then complete the mcafee installation. View this thread

I'm refurbing an old laptop (HP Pavilion dv8000) and can not get the audio to work. I have download the drivers from the make of the audio chip on the motherborad, but it still reports not working. The chip is a Realtek AC'97. When I go to the device manager, it I see the new drivers, but no luck loading them. View the thread

I'm following the instructions Microsoft provided to move the Office 2013 setup files to a network share drive to deploy. When I invoke setup.exe from the powershell script I created, the setup runs all the way to the end but then stops and gives me the error "Microsoft Office encountered an error during setup". Upgraded my NEC Versa E3100 laptop, from XP, with a larger hard drive and 3gig of memory. Installed Windows 7. Every thing went well except that I now have no sound. The speaker icon has a red circle with a white cross in the centre. The message that come up is that there is no audio device present. I have down loaded the file from Realtek and tried to install but Windows does not allow this to happen. The search feature will locate the files with a key word just fine, but how does this keyword get transferred to the document you open without having to initiate another search in the application? When I open the file, it is necessary to now search withing each document again, rather than being able to open it and have the find command already working and highlighting the keyword. I'm planning to buy a SD -> IDE adapter and installing Windows 8 on a 32GB SD card. Is that doable? If so, is the performance going to be slow like hell? Hi, For several days I have tried to correct and repair error 80070490 for windows update. No luck. Microsoft Fixit and Hotfix tools have bee run and both tell me that Update components have been repaired. Still does not work ! - Window s update location has been changed and must be repaired - is still required. Update files indicates that no updates have been downloaded and the check for updates is not responding. It worked so well until a few days ago I have no recovery disc with Vista and pc refuses to perform a system restore to a backup. So what would be the next step ?? My computer gets the Blue Screen of Death every time I try to restart and/or shut it down. It begins to run the shutdown process, then give me the BSOD. I havn't changed any hardware recently. The last thing that was changed was a few months ago I had to get a different video card, but the problem started this week. Here is the error from the event viewer. Windows 8 would not boot. So I ran a refresh. Well this worked however some issues occured after this. C: permissions changed and I had to give them from command prompt, booting to CD. Now windows applications are loading properly now. The only issue I have left is missing Windows Tiles. The default ones like skydrive, messenger, my computer, documents. They do not come up when you type to search either. Control panel I was able to get back by pinning the control.exe file. But this is quite the process for all apps. I did notice however that c:program fileswindowsapps was missing completely. I have tried to copy this folder over from another windows 8 machine to see if this would help. Nothing. Even changing the permissions to everyone. Is there any way to reload the windowsapps folder and tiles? View the full article

Help me please. I am unable to work with my photos due to a c-drive that is not there. I have tried everything possible and to no avail. Now I noticed that my UAC controls aare not responding along with my F8 key which would lead me to believe that Iam unable to change permissions etc. Also, would like to know if denying permission to authenticated users would prevent me from getting through?
