I have recently started to receive the following erro messages: "svchost.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost" then "svchost.exe - Application Error The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occured in the application at location 0x7c812fd3" and "the instruction at "0x781705d0" referenced memory at 0x00000013" The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program, Click CANCEL to debugthe program". These message come up at various times and there appears to be no pattern to it. Hello MS Community, Please can anyone let me know if they are having the same problems as I am experiencing, and if there is a fix? Since a Windows Update in the first half of May my laptop(s) are constantly dipping in to the internet and hard disk. I know it is accessing the internet, as when I turn wireless off the activity ceases. Concerned about what is being transmitted and hard disk wear. I am fully virus protected and have run a few malware scans, but nothing comes up. I have got 2 laptops being affected by this. I am not a technical person so don't know where to start, apart from pay some exorbitant amount to PC World to fix it! Please can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks in advance. Have to download a programme to desktop on W8 but when I click on download, I don't get the option of the destination I want, viz, the desktop. As soon as I click to download, a downward arrow appears at bottom left of the screen and the file ends up in 'Downloads'. How can I change it? View the full article

To start, I have an HP Pavilion11 x360 PC Touchscreen running a 64-bit Windows 8 OS. I recently had its corrupted hard drive swapped out with another reformatted hard drive, but now there are a few things wrong. *The Brightness keys, F2 and F3, do not change the Brightness at all. *The USB port to the left does not work/ recognize USB drives. *The touchscreen is inactive; Pen and Touch reads: No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display. *In Devices and Printers, the "Devices" column has the image of a laptop with an yellow hazard triangle with the statuses: Needs Troubleshooting and Driver is unavailable. Whenever I attempt to Troubleshoot, the program simply says Unknown device and Unknown driver. So what in the world has happened to my good ole computer? What drivers do I need? When I logon my account with domain, and after restarted my PC and logon it, the Start menu was automatically changed to "Shut Down" button, I can't find any services to change back to "Turn off Computer" button with editing. Can anyone have suggests for fixing this issues? View this thread

Since allowing a company known as "Image Repairs" to check my system I have had a problem with Windows Updates. Whilst I am able to download the Update files I get the message 'Configuration failed, reverting changes' and all Updates therefore fail to install. I've tried the Microsoft fix tool but all problems (none of which I was aware are stated to be fixed) except the problem I am now experiencing. " Image Repair" which I shall not be using again, gave out a message at the end of their program advising 'problem with reinstatement of Windows Update, try installing them manually or contact their customer services' I've installed them previously when this messaged has appeared and Updates have installed and configured correctly. Hello all I am going to apply the RMS rule to my office 365 account neither I am using AD nor Azure account . So far I activate the IRM in it and Create a share point there only now I need to use the RMS template in mail flow rule but it is not present . I think atleast the default Template are present in there . Can any body suggest what I have to do. My old laptop (using Vista Home Premium) had no problem detecting and installing both of my printers and would print fine. The "new to me" notebook I now have (using Vista Home Premium) will NOT detect and install my HP printer or my Epson PictureMate. On this notebook I have noticed that there is no "Ports" listing in DM and I'm thinkin' there should be. I've been wrestling this issue for two weeks, trying different things to fix the issue to no avail. Please help if you guys (and gals!) can. Thanks in advance! After reinstalling MS Vista Home Premium (on a HP dv5 Notebook), I see that there is a "Other Device" listed in Device Manager. This "Unknown Device" also shows up on "Network" icon on desktop screen. When trying to update Windows I get these errors for several updates 8E5E0147, 80070BC9. I have tried disabling Anti Virus ( AVG ) and I have run a system file check, which reported finding corrupt files but unable to fix some of them (Cannot view CBS log Access is Denied). Additionally I have tried manually downloading them and installing but received error saying This is not for your system, can confirm it is the correct for the system. I am a professional photographer and for the last several years I have been printing my photos from my picture file to a CD in a drawer on my Dell hard drive. Suddenly it has stopped doing that and I get a message E:/is not accessible incorrect function and if I put the disc in the other drawer I still get the same message. I feel a driver my have been disabled. For the last two weeks I contacted Norton Technical Support and two different men worked four holurs each on two different nights to correct some other problems. I feel they may have done something to create this problem as everything was fine a month ago. How do I re-install drivers if that is the problem? I hope this is a simple problem to correct. Greetings We have an Office 2013 deployment in our organization that was configured using the Office Customization Tool. In our OCT customization, we have set Outlook to automatically configure the user mail profile with cached exchange mode enabled. We have a user that we need to disable exchange cache mode however every time we try to disable, cache mode always returns. In addition, if we try uninstalling Office and re-install using a standard Office install (not our deployment that used OCT), cache mode still gets enabled. I am guessing that the OCT creates some sort of file that is placed somewhere on the PC, and now anytime Outlook gets installed it references that file and set Outlook to default to Exchanged Cached mode. If this is true, I would be interested in where this file gets stored, and if it can be deleted so we can configure Outlook on this PC as we wish. we've been running dB3>dB4 on XP pro printing to HP 4000t since 98 - as of 5-1-15, we get print error from any DB program - programmer used tons of bat/macros to inter face DB w/XP - HP driver is pcl6 - can’t find PLC5 (as recommended by our too old retired IT guy) and don't know where XP keeps printer drivers. Need to get this running, our entire company daily mail/order/income/donor list/response (mail order non-profit) is on DB - then - find program/OS to upgrade/replace old programs - equipment. Any suggestion on any of the above issues? – No original cd software available as all of OEM, and they didn’t make backup files. Mail and order piling up. Hello guys,So got Windows XP.A usb port that is my keyboard is working with (to be sure its a working port).A Logitech c270 webcam.So when I plug the webcam into a USB port - nothing happens. I've checked the Device Manager and used the Scan for devices button - no result.I've downloaded the drivers for the webcam and installed them manually and using the logitech install program - no result.I went to Logitech support center and they refuse to continue the talk until I verify my webcam on another PC what I cannot test ATM.Can you please advice?
