  1. Ok make sure that you take the memory out in channels:- as in channel 1 is normally slot 1 and 3. and channel 2 is normally 2 and 4. *do not get the pairs mixed up* (even if they are the same manufacturer) try channel one is slots 1 and 3 and then try channel two in 1 and 3
  2. Ok - do you also have 4x1GB sticks of RAM or 2x2GB - try taking 2 out if they are 4x1GB. and 1 if it's 2x2GB. I know this sounds daft but I read somewhere about COD4 not working if a mic isn't plugged in - try it and see what happens. Can you also tell me the brand and model of the RAM plz
  3. Clicking is normally the HDD - if it is your main HDD then the drive can run at a toasty 50 degrees  (this is normal) The clicking occurs when the arm is sticking - you should notice pauses in the OS and programs, mouse movements etc. One of mine has been clicking for 2 years and still not died - better to make regular backups incase one day it decides to give up the ghost. :)
  4. Get that Linkin Park - In The End on Full Whack on your PC - and that will cure you Randy :D either make you feel younger or make you deaf
  5. lol - do you feel like a grandfather on here too
  6. AMD Duron anyone
  7. This is the best one :D YouTube - Linkin Park - In The End
  8. In The End is the best :D
  9. How did you get a pic of my bedroom  lol - will post mine when its all set up again (new house move and that :() If you want a look at the case it's a Lian Li PC343B - biggest case I could find :D
  10. The worst thing I have ever seen was on the NET and a CPU exploded and remnants shot out the back of the PC and they were found embedded in a concrete wall 6" in
  11. My favourite band of all time is Linkin Park :D I like Evanescence and some of the oldies like Whitesnake and Mike and the mechanics ;)
  12. Ok no problem - I have no idea about this type of audio card - did you try it in a different PCI slot?
  13. Glad it's sorted - anymore problems you know where we are ;)
  14. Is it just crashing on multiplayer??
  15. I can't see it being a Power problem - 280 is enough for what you are running As previous GPU is normally the most hungry component and yours is between 30 and 60 WATT on full 3D rendering  So I would bet its not the PSU *unless there is something wrong with it* I would recommend running ORTHOS or EVEREST to stress test the PC - there are FREE version of both and will give you an indication of what is going on as I am struggling here  did you try the RAM at 5-5-15-42??
  16. Glad it's all sorted - on the internet side - I for one would be LOST without it - internet in the UK you can get for as little as £7.50 per month ;)
  17. Billiards is basically the American version of our pool - ours are red/yellow or blue/yellow (7 of each) and the americans is spots and stripes. (9 ball is a different variation or spots and stripes) thats my understanding and I hope I am right as I play both :o
  18. I remember this the first time round - there were not many AV programs that could stop it in its tracks
  19. The Storm Worm is back, trying to convince people to infect themselves. Several web pages hosted online try and spread rumours of war, promising videos to back the claim. The links all lead to an executable which will infect anyone. All modern browsers give you some very strong warnings about launching executables and most good techies know better, hopefully it will be contained.
  20. lol - they do still have 9 ball so you were right :p
  21. Or 15 in our pubs :)
  22. Its easy to do - there will be 2 screws at the back of the pc that you undo and then there are 2 slots in there for the memory - they just slide out
  23. Ok look here http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;310396& Also if you have more than 1 stick of RAM - take 1 out and see if it boots - if it doesn't take the other out and replace and see if that boots - you can also try taking the add in cards out 1 by 1 to see if it boots. This is a common problem but there are many things that can cause it
  24. I used to do Boxing and Rugby - serious injury stopped both  I now play golf :) I dont like watching sport really - I watch some of the big events - world cup etc but thats about it.
