Wow, you would need real self control to do that. I bet you can't restrain yourself after you have read Barry's next post. :D -- Goku

Hah, I have got enough of your "autographs" to last me a lifetime. And they have already filled up my trash can so I am considering buying a new one! So, thanks but no thanks! :p -- Goku

No, they should be banned or there should be a demand of public apology to assure that such heinous crimes are not commited again! :D -- Goku

How Did Company Get My Password?
Goku replied to struggling's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Is that an exaggerated claim or are you seriously mean that? Give the name of the company you are dealing with. If you subscribed to them, you must have given them a password because it is an essential field while feeling such forms. -- Goku -
OK, here is one more thing you can try to resolve your problem. 1. Click Start. 2. Select Run.... 3. Type services.msc in the Open: box and click OK. 4. In the corresponding Window, you will be presented with a list of services as shown below. Search for a service titled Nvidia Driver Helper Service or something similar. http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/img/16333-1.gif 5. After you have located the service, right-click on it and select Properties. 6. In the Startup type: change the preference from Automatic to Disabled. Click Apply and then OK. 7. Reboot the computer. Try to shut down your computer and see if you still experience the problem or not. Good Luck. :) -- Goku

OK, do the following. Go to Device Manager and expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers category. Right-click on each of the listed devices and select the Properties option. Switch to the Advanced Settings tab (if present) and see which one says ATAPI CD-ROM or something similar. Do this for all other present IDE controllers and uninstall the ones which are related to your CD / DVD drive. Reboot the computer. Does your CD / DVD drive work now? -- Goku

Hello and Welcome to FPCH Jesus. :) Please don't start multiple threads as it becomes more difficult to keep track of them. I have merged them for you so please continue in this thread as it will be easier for both of us. I gather that you have already downloaded the registry fix but I recommend you to try and apply it again. Please download the attached archive and extract it. If you are unsure on how to open the archive, use the instructions from here and continue. After you have extracted the archive, you should obtain a file labeled Fix CD Drive.reg. Double-click on the file and you will be asked whether you want to import the information into the registry or not. Answer Yes to the prompt and sometime later another dialog box will pop up informing you that the operation was successful. After you have done the above, reboot your computer. You should now be able to access and use your CD drive. http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/images/colortheory/attach/zip.gif Fix CD Drive.zip Note: Using the above registry fix might cause some programs to dysfunction or work incorrectly. In that case, please reinstall the affected programs to resolve their respective errors. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku

It seems that there seems to be a server issue at the location where the file is being hosted. It would be better if you stay away from the downloads till the issues are resolved. Alternately, you could try downloading it from here. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku

Hello Bob. Outlook Express can be removed but it is not an easy procedure. There are a thousand things that can go wrong and therefore only consider removing it if you think you can handle the procedure effectively. Here is a step-by-step guide on doing it. There are other ways too like using "OS strippers" but you are happier if you stay away from them. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku

OK Usel, it seems that the Windows Update Agent is corrupted due to some reason. Please follow the instructions from here to download and install the latest version. Install the update and reboot the computer. Does the error persist? Also, when exactly do you get the error message? Hope that helps. :) -- Goku

wuauclt.exe is a genuine file that is essential for the proper working of Windows. It can be found in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe" where C is the drive letter on which Windows is installed. If you do not believe me, you can upload the file from your computer on NoVirusThanks and test if for any malicious codes. The file plays an important role in Windows Update and can cause the described error under certain circumstances. Hope that clears your doubt. :) -- Goku

PC won't save in My Documents anymore
Goku replied to struggling's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Hello Struggling. Please post a screen shot of your My Documents folder so that we can have a better idea of what you are actually trying to say. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku -
Hello Usel. Can you please confirm the file name and see if it is wuauclt.exe or wuault.exe. It might be that you have an infestation of Malware as Barry suspects, so it would be better if you run through our disinfection procedure and then see if the error is resolved or not. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku
