I have Windows 7 and I am trying to upload files from my ZTE Score to my computer. But it keeps telling me my device is unrecognized. This phone worked before I had my computer repaired. They reinstalled Windows 7, but not with all the programs I previously had. I did not back up my files. What do I do? I have been looking for drivers on the internet that I could install to make it work, but it doesn't. View the thread

After years with no problem I cannot access MSE. On booting I get a dialogue box saying ""An error has occured in the program during initialization. If this problem continue please contact your system administrator. Error Code 0x80070715". If I try to access MSE to update from the task bar or Programs I get the same message. If I try Microsoft Update it shows a critical update for MSE being KB 2804527 (4.2.223.1) which will download but not intall. The message says the update was not installed even though it apparently dowloaded. I tried system restore to no avail. I googled the error code and tried some suggested fixes but found nothing to fix the problem. Please help. View this thread

windows 8 Storage Space in 8 How to correctly
News Bot posted a topic in Operating Systems Help & Support
Understanding pools If you want to take advantage of Storage Spaces, you must first create at least one pool of disks to house your virtual drive. We show you how to do this (and how to set up your first storage space) in this walkthrough. The number of disks you use in your pool is up to you. Officially a pool can support an unlimited number of drives, so the upper limit is governed only your hardware; Microsoft says the technology has been successfully tested with "hundreds of drives". Equally, it’s possible to create a pool containing only a single disk. This might seem pointless, but it allows you to create a storage space that can be easily expanded by adding a second drive to the pool at a later date. However, there is a big benefit to using multiple drives, as this lets you take advantage of the various storage space resiliency options, which we’ll discuss below. Using more than one disk may also improve performance, as it allows Windows 8 to read and write data from multiple drives at once. Don’t expect super-fast file transfers, though, for reasons we'll explore later. Be aware that when you add a disk to a pool it’s completely wiped and becomes inaccessible to Windows. You can’t access it through the Explorer, nor save regular files onto it directly; and if you ever remove it from the pool it will need to be reformatted before you can reuse it. You can’t add only specified partitions to a pool, either: it’s the whole disk or nothing. you can read more here http://www.pcpro.co.uk/features/379408/windows-8-storage-spaces-a-how-to-guide/2 I see the ones that are having issues are the ones that do not understand what they are doing. When my HP Z220 wakes up from sleep (which is fast an reliable), Outlook 2013 will not receive or send any mail or open any link that I click on and IE is also blocking and refuses to load any web pages at all. At the same time, I can use FireFox and browse just fine with it. Also: when the machine wakes up (no sure if this also happens when I boot it) and I mistype my password, the machine will block for minutes, only showing the spinning dots, no way to interrupt this. (I am using a Windows Account to log in.) View the full article

Hello, I have(had) 2 2TB SATA HDDs as 2-way mirror in Storage spaces. This is my story: 1. I ran diskpart.exe to format some hdd. 2. Selected wrong disk. 3. Cleaned disk. 4. Started to format it. 5. Noticed it was wrong disk. 6. Cancelled format in disk management. 7. Removed storage from storage space. (thought this was general mirror, so I could restore data with acronis disk recovery.) 8. Tried Acronis disk recovery, found out, it can not seach for partitions on GPT-formatted drives. 9. Converted 2-nd drive to MBR. 10. Tried Acronis again, it found nothing. 11. Tried WinHex, It found some partitions, but it was useless. 12. Tried to find files with signature search - it found some JPGs. 13. Came here to ask about storage spaces. How do I get my data back? Usual tricks with editing MBR in hex editor not work anymore, as I can see. Thank you! View the full article

Just upgraded my system from Windows XP to Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. Now, my system does not recognise my Wireless Intellimouse Explorer as being a Microsoft product. Looks like the system has loaded some default mouse driver with limited functionality. My software that came with the mouse is not compatible with Windows 7. There is no Windows 7 driver available for the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer. The mouse is connected via USB. View the thread

Hi, Since some days ago, my Outlook 2013 is not syncing my Inbox from GMail, just appears on the folders list named "Inbox [only this computer]" and none of the messages that I've received on my Inbox has been synchronized. I already tried to remove the profile and creating a new a lot of times, however I didn't get success. Is this a bug from the version 2013? Is there a way I can reset Outlook to factory defaults? Thanks. View this thread

Win8 Pro x64. Our GP specifies that monitors are to turn off after 15 minutes. To rule out the GP I removed myself from that policy and am now running a local power policy that states the monitor should turn off after 1 minute. The only thing that happens is the session locks after 15 minutes. I also cannot find out where that lock out timer is. I enabled (via reg) "Console lock display off timeout" and set that to 1 yet my machine still only locks after 15 minutes and the monitors never turn off. I should also note that all other machines on the domain work fine and their monitors turn off. My computer setup also worked fine with Win7 x86. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any help! Windows 7 64-bit laptop with 2 user accounts. User 1 (admin). Weather gadget works just fine. User 2. Weather & Currency gadgets used to work but have recently stopped, with "can't connect to service" message. Clock gadget continues to work fine on both accounts. I've seen several fixes like deleting the Sidebar "settings.ini" file or running the sfc/scannow utility. Neither have any effect. I've also tried turning off the Windows feature then re-starting. I've even tried replacing the files in User 2 Sidebar/Cache directories with the ones from the working User 1, no luck. I've also seen remarks about Microsoft having disabled this feature as a security measure. However, if that's true then why is the weather gadget still working for user 1, even after remove/re-add/change of location etc. It seems unaffected. It would appear that it's something in User 2 settings (though nothing has been knowingly changed). All regular MS updates installed. Advice please. View the thread

I kept getting a bunch of messages that Windows 8 had problems booting today. driver_corrupted_expool then shutdown and reboot, come up next bad_pool_header, etc. I went to advanced boot options and selected the "Refresh" option. It asked me to put my disk in and click next. So I did but I couldn't select "NEXT". There was no "NEXT" option after inserting my disk. Just cancel! Is Microsoft that stupid? How are you supposed to refresh your installation without losing data and programs if it doesn't recognize that you inserted a disk? So far this OS sucks IMO! View the full article

My wife and I share a Canon MP270 multipurpose printer on our hard wired office network. I can print my documents on the printer which is attached to her computer. She runs Microsoft XP Home edition and I run Windows 7 Professional. I can't get the scanner function on the printer to scan documents to files on my computer or as attachments to email. Her computer knows mine is attached for printing functions but not scanner. I need help about setting up the nework on these two computers for all functions to work. I have a router that connects them to each other and to the internet. View this thread
