I recently installed Windows 7 using a new Gateway PC. I now cannot get the screen to go dark when not in use. like I could in XP. My monitor is a new Samsung LED. What I want is to have the screen go dark after a hour or so of non use, and be able to bring it back quickly by moving mouse or pushing a key. I have tried changing all the settings for screensavers and power saving options but the screen still stays lit all day, even with no use for several hours. What am I overlooking? We have multiple users, including myself with Office 2013 Home and Business. In addition, I have Visio Pro 2013. We are trialing Office 365 E3 right now, wanting to demo the Lync features especially. When I went to install Office 365 ProPlus from the My Apps page, the ClickToRun app started and then eventually after streaming for about 2 hours simply froze. Rebooting didn't help and I was forced to Uninstall all Office 2013 apps using the following KB article's "fix it": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501#Method1 My question is: Is there a proper rollout for getting users that already have Office 2013 (either the full suite or individual apps like Visio) upgraded/migrated to Office 2013 ProPlus with the E3 plan of Office 365? Is it going to require uninstalling existing Office 2013 suites/apps on their PCs before running the installer on the Office 365 site? Or, should the Office 2013 ProPlus be able to upgrade/replace the existing Office 2013 suites/apps on a user's PC? View this thread

Hi! Can a Windows Home Server run as a HTTP site using Remote Web Access and a dedicated wireless router without a connection to the Internet? I have Windows Phone apps that require my WHS to run as a remote server in order to access its media files in and around my house. I had changed my printer (twice) in the last two days because I cannot get it to set as a default printer. I thought it was a fault with the printer originally so I bought another and am experiencing the same problem. When I try to set it as a default printer I get the message. ' Operation could not be completed error 0X00000709. Other messages I get when I try to solve the problem are 'Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable.'I have tried setting it as default through notepad but that does not work and inOutlook when I hover over the printer button it say my old printer ( which I have removed and all software) HP Officejet 63000 is the default. I'm setting up a computer lab for a school. I have volume licenses to Office 2013 but I'm not sure how to set this up for Windows Multipoint Server 2012. I wrote my friend an email, then went into my photo gallery and printed off 3 photos to include in the email. Although the 3 photos went horizontally across the top of the email, I then sent it to her. When I looked at the email that I'd sent her, the photos were from top to bottom, through most of my email wording, quite cutting off most of the wording. What's to do. Our clients are currently connected to a domain on an inhouse server (Windows SBS), primarily to access common data. Each client has an administrative account and a user account. We are moving the data to Sharepoint online in Office 365 and the inhouse server will be discontinued. Therefore, we want to change each client so that it does not connect to the domain but to a workgroup. I note that, using the administrative account, I can change the the network from domain to workgroup but then I can't connect to the user account on the workgroup. Does Microsoft sell or offer a package to install that will allow my vista media center to play BluRay Disc? I have installed a bluray player internal drive, and it works fine, but it will not play bluray disc in windows media center. It does work if I install a bluray player program like Power DVD, but I would like to stay with Microsoft products if possible. When I click on my Icon "Windows Live Mail" to get into my regular email account, a pop up box comes up asking for my username and password. The one I use for my hotmail account. Where did this box come from? All I have to do is "x" out of it and I can access my metrocast.net email account. My hotmail/live.com is something totally separate. My Task: I have backed up all the productivity software programs from a windows 7 home premium 64bit PC (which is being retired) onto an external hard drive. I want to use many of these programs on a new PC running windows 7 professional 64bit OS. I believe that I may have several ways of accomplishing this task and am seeking your advice on the following techniques. 1. I could remove the hard drive from the older PC and use it as a second hard drive in the new PC. If I do that should I leave the OS on the drive? 2. Can I just restore my backup to the new PC? 3. Although I have the original program CDs, license restrictions limit the number of times some programs can be installed and activated. I have addressed such licensining questions to several software manufacturers of my software including Nuance (for PaperPort, Omnipage, etc.) and am awaiting responses. 4. I would also consider creating a dual boot system but I believe that the windows 7 home premium OS would need to be the default OS. That change would probably void my product warranty with HP. 5. Please do not limit your responses to the above ideas. I would appreciate your help or suggestions as to the best way (if any) to accomplish my task. Thank you. View the thread

Windows update KB2323324 is installed and I cannot find it to uninstall it as it is not listed to uninstall. It is known to cause errors and since installing my pc is booting up slowly and I have to manually open some applications. Where can i find it to uninstall ?
