  8. Ok how close if the laptop to the wireless router? Being to close can drop a connection try going upstairs. Mobile phones and cordless house phones and other wirless devices can interfere with the connection.
  9. Lets try a simple solution to start with and see if it works. Make sure your monitor is plugged in correctly. Power off the computer. Remove from power outlet. Open her up and touch PSU for a few seconds. Locate BIOS reset jumper uslay located near BIOS battery. Remove jumper over to the two empty pins. Leave for one minute. Replace little plastic jumper onto origonal pins. Now restart the computer. Now do you have picture on your screen?
  10. Turn off the laptop then restart it. Hit F11 key is the usal key for recovery console. Choose recovery console and follow onscreen instructions. Does that work?
  11. This could be a corrupt install I would sugest a full resinstall deleteing the partition then creating a new one then install.Or an issue with power options. Have you tried a reinstall? However if you used the same COA key on each computer it is only a matter of time before Microsoft sends a certain update down the internet shutting off computers. They have cottoned on to the fact of using the same COA key many times and this update they send can limit the operating system, shut it down or send it into a loop. This possibly what has happened. It seems to happen more to Intel processors rather than AMD.
  12. Hello there. I myself and many others have had this issue and found no fix.It is a Skype issue or certain chat issues. Maybe someone else can input and help you?
  13. Hey Steph, gosh a new system to what I am used to. Ok a simple fix would be a system restore. Click start/all programms/accessories/system tools/system restore. Open system restore and dont worry it looks a little frightening but honestly it is easy. Choose restore your computer to a diffrent time and date. Choose a date to just before this issue occured. Follow the instructions on screen. The machine will reboot during the process so do not worry. If you get stuck give us a call and see what help we can give further.
  14. You can either uninstall the driver and then install a fresh new one or just install the newer driver. In your case it maybe better uninstall the old one then install the new one. Your screen may look a little odd untill you reset your resolution etc. If this dont resolve your issue please post back and we can help you further.
  15. Pop in the XP install disk you wish to have on your PC. While there delete both partitions this will wipe out both operating systems, then create another partition and install as you usaly would.

  18. I do not agree. To add more water into the already wet product is certainly a no way. Ok certain drinks can leave deposits on hardware like my nephew did with his MAC book,he spilt coke I belive. I also do NOT advise opening up any machine unless you know what you are doing.Especialy with laptops. You can totaly cause more damage if you are not fully skilled in this area. My advise I give to those who have spilt any fluid into a laptop is to power off straight away remove any removable parts such as battery.Tip the laptop on one of its edges and let it drain of water.Do not place in a airing cupboard at all.Just place in a war room and leave for 2-3 days. If after 2-3 days the machine dont power back on then it is replace the mainboard wich could be costly.
  19. Annoying I know babe. Could I ask why was the reason you formatted? Are you able to get into BIOS and load defaults, save and exit? Does the hard drive show in BIOS? Is your XP install disk a copy or is it a retail diek or OEM? Has this disk been used on more than one computer if it is a copy or a retail disk? Did you use the same COA key on more than one computer?
  20. Hello and welcome. During the install did you leave the disk in untill you actualy managed to logon to windows? Are you sure it is not updates installing while shutting down?As this can result in what appears to be a black screen and the PC not turning off?
  21. Just sayying hello and welcome.
  22. I dont think I have a funny story. How sad am I?
  23. Hello and welcome. Hey post away we are here to help. :)
  24. Hello and welcome. Does your computer have a wireless card? Are there any wireless networks in range?Normaly a wireless card will only pick up a wireless router in the area not a WIFI connection. Do you have a wireless router in range? It may sound I am asking silly questions its because we need more information on your network setup and what you are trying to connect to.
