How do I disable "Pen and Full Windows Touch Support" for 1 monitor in Windows 10, but not all monitors? A user connected a Pen and Touchscreen to his Windows 10 desktop PC (monitor #3). At first, the touch was affecting one of his original monitors, instead of the touch monitor itself. I found the "Tablet PC Settings" Control Panel Applet and began the setup. We quickly got Pen and Touch working on the correct monitor, but somehow in the process we also turned it on for the main screen, which does not support pen or touch. I don't see any way to disable it for a monitor, only to add it. How can we disable Pen and Touch for a monitor that doesn't support it, but still leave it active for the monitor that does support it? Thanks, Colin Colin More...

Good afternoon, Dears! My experience of using Windows 10 started from confusion: Almost every popup in system and in Internet Explorer is shown BEHIND current window, doesn't matter browser or Windows Explorer. I've tried searching.. but maybe because I don't really know what to search for - I can't find how to fix it... I want any popup, including security popups (login/password promt) to be shown over all windows. Maybe there is a GPO for that reason? https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/1324443Thanks in advance, Roman More...

Hi! I have purchased two licenses of Windows 10 Pro x64. Everything works fine, except for one disturbing elements. I have an unsigned driver to a program that I use every day, so I have to boot in the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode every time, for the program to work. Yes, I have activated the old fashioned F8 boot menu, which is disabled by default in Windows 10. This is no problem, but it seems impossible to get Windows 10 to boot in this mode as standard. In Windows 7 I solved it easily with the programs "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider" or "ReadyDriver Plus", but none of these programs seem to work in Windows 10. So my question is simply, how do I configure Windows 10 so that my computer will boot in the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode PERMANENTLY? Alternatively, configure the boot setting so that the boot menu (F8) appears by default every time I boot, so I don't always need to be prepared to throw myself on the F8 key at every startup. We are trying to utilize the remote assistance tool in our domain. We have configured the correct group policies and the necessary firewall rules. I find that others in my network can connect fine to my workstation through remote assistance, but the connection tends to last less than 10 minutes before randomly disconnecting. The only thing I found in event viewer that might be related is a security audit failure. The event ID is 5058. Details: Key file operation. Subject: Security ID: mydomain\my user account Account Name: my user account Account Domain: mydomain Logon ID: 0x12B351 Cryptographic Parameters: Provider Name: Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider Algorithm Name: RSA Key Name: DesktopSharing-{} Key Type: User key. Key File Operation Information: File Path: C:\Users\my user account\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\Keys\ Operation: Delete key file. Return Code: 0x80090016 This event seems to fire right when someone connects to me via Remote Assistance. I don't if this is describing where the problem is, but it seems unlikely to be a complete coincidence. I checked my folder for the file listed in File Path. It does not exist. More...

Hi, I have 2 PC's which are both the same in spec and same windows 10 pro version number. When I import a task for task scheduler it works perfectly without any problems. When I import that same file to the other PC, it doesn't seem to work. Task Scheduler runs as I can see it in the History tab, but what it suppose to do doesn't work. I tested the batch file manually and that works perfectly. So I see the issue from the Task Scheduler. Please, can someone help me with this situation? Thank you! More...

I'm running Windows 10 on Dell Alienware and I've disabled all screen savers, screen is set to turn off at 15 minutes and "sleep after" is set to NEVER! I did that from "Power & Sleep" settings as well as from "Advanced Power settings" panel. But still my PC goes to sleep within few minutes of idle time. It is not consistent with it the idle time either... sometimes it happens around 3 minutes mark and sometimes it takes about 30 minutes. This time I captured the event logs and here is what i found: The system is entering sleep. Sleep Reason: System Idle Source: Kernel-Power Keywords: Microsoft-Windows-NDF-HelperClassDiscovery,DCStop And the previous 3 events were: The driver \Driver\ACPI for device stopped the power transition. Reason code is 'Idle'... but the system was idle for just 3 minutes!! Searched for solutions and everywhere people were talking abou trivial stuff like "check your screen saver", "check your power settings", etc. But in this case, all seems to be good and the PC set to NEVER sleep, but it continues to do the same. Please let me know if there is anything else I should check/set?! Thanks!! More...

Windows 10 Ltsb is the best version of Windows 10 to play games on, cause the frames in the games are much more smoother, compared to Windows 10 pro, it is actually quite an difference in smoothness! Also, i?ve noticed temperature drops on my gpu and cpu, when gaming, compared to windows 10 Pro. But alas, Windows 10 Ltsb does not contain Creators Update, So no Dolby Atmos for Headphones or Hdr, which is quietly really sad. So i would ask you, could you please add an update, which patches the Creator Update to Windows Ltsb? More...

I am having some issues with shadow copy taking up a lot of disk time and causing lag. Lag spikes are occurring approx every 30 seconds to a minute. In the resource monitor, under System, I currently have approximately 100+ (approx 3.5 pages) \device\hardiskvolumeshadocopy instances running. (Hard to count exactly as they keep changing.) Total CPU usage is ~15%; Memory usage is 40%; Disk usage fluctuates between 10% and 60% (up to Total: 16 GB/sec) at idle. (I know a comp is never truly at idle, but the only active windows up right now are this Chrome window, Task manager, Resource Monitor and the PowerShell.) Each shadowcopy instance/file is grouped in sets of seven (where xxxxx is a group number): harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx\ harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx\$Mft harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx\$Secure:SDS harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx\$Extend\$Reparse:$R:$Index_Allocation harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx\$Secure:$SII:$Index_Allocation harddiskvolumeshadowcopyxxxxx\System Volume Information My Shadow Copy Storage association is For volume: (C:)\\?\Volume{95564550-02d1-4593-afdb-8ac81a1584c2}\ Shadow Copy Storage volume: (C:)\\?\Volume{95564550-02d1-4593-afdb-8ac81a1584c2}\ Used Shadow Copy Storage space: 1.68 GB (0%) Allocated Shadow Copy Storage space: 2.77 GB (1%) Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space: 22.3 GB (10%) I am running Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit. The hard drive is a SSD. Any other data you need? A couple of days ago, I resized to the current 10% max space and created a restore point. Originally I thought the lag was a conflict between VSS and Carbonite (it appeared that the two were in a continuous Do loop with each other). I limited the Carbonite back-up to only running in the middle of the night and to not do a continuous back-up. It fixed the issue for about a day. Going back in today, the huge number of shadowcopy instances is back. In addition, the manual restore point I created a couple of days ago is gone. There are no other restore points. Regarding the potential conflict with Carbonite: the Carbontie files that were present originally in Resource Monitor are not there today. I would like to keep shadowcopy running but it makes some applications extremely difficult to use due to the lag. How do I stop the constant read/write to disk? Better yet: how do I stop the frequent lag spikes? More...

So I'm having a bit of trouble with multi-screen touch on Windows 10 2016 LTSB Enterprise. 1) All touch registers only on the 1st screen and any touch on UI elements on the 2nd screen is "routed" to the first screen and is thus ignored 2) Calibration using the `multidigimon -touch` tool doesn't work - the tool is broken. It doesnt detect any sort of input and has to be killed through the task manager. 3) There is a phantom screen, after updating the touch vendor drivers (I'm going to reimage and I hope it will go away). The touch vendor is eGalaxTouch. 4) More information, pictures and better formatting on super user. Once my account is verified I can add the link because the question is relatively long. Dear Microsoft devs, i don't know what and how you are testing your updates on to even come close be able to promote Windows 10 as 'the best windows for gaming'. Every - and i mean EVERY FUCKING UPDATE you fuck something over with your forced updates. ( me onto Windows 10 you dicks) did you ever heard of soundcards? no? figured as much! because my sound settings for my Soundblaster ZxR need to be reinstalled every time you force feed an 'improvement' down my throat. i sincerely can't tell you how often i clean installed my OS up until now. but i can tell you one thing: i'm sure as hell not the only one having all these problems. I've had enough of your bullshit, that is why i posted this under the 'Learning' category. Get your shit together, stop enforcing wickedly unstable bugs you call updates and leave me be with your FUCKING FEATURES. i just want to have a PC that doesn't enter a complete meltdown whenever i use it every few weeks!!!!!!! with that beeing out of the way: thanks for nothing and a pleasant day for you all Yours, #thebestwindowsforgamingUSER More...

Hi folks! I have a computer with multiple sound cards that interface to different devices. When I remote desktop into this computer, I want a specific sound card to be redirect back to me, and I want all the others to remain active. How do I do it? (right now when i connect, all the sound cards disappear from the remote computer, and audio is redirected back to me...but I need the others to continue working on that remote computer.) Any Ideas? --Keith More...

I can't share files from some windows 10 computers. Revision doesn't matter. port 445 is listening: TCP 0.0.0.0:445 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 TCP 192.168.0.27:54220 DC-IP-addr:445 ESTABLISHED 4 TCP [::]:445 [::]:0 LISTENING 4 I can telnet localhost 445 I can't telnet my-ip 445 It means I can't telnet to my computer from my computer by ip address. Something is blocking it on interface. 139 port is opened on interface and can be telneted. All antivirus software disabled. Firewall, defender disabled. File and Printer Sharing service reinstalled from network adapter settings. Enabling disabling SMBv1, SMBv2 on client and host -> doesn't help. "Function Discovery Provider Host" and "Function Discovery Resource Publication" both running on client and host. NetBios enabled on network adapter, however it doesn't work in windows 10. I can't nbtstat -a ip-address. More...

Hi I have a Windows 8 laptop and all of a sudden Internet Explorer has started opening the window really tiny. Not aware of any changes I've made and all other applications are fine. It seems that the packages of .Net Framework - Update KB4340558 - are damaged (wrong or missing hashes). Install fails with error 0x80092004 on Windows 8.1 clients and Windows Server 2012 R2. Also KB 4054566 (Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2) seems affected. I've now round about 10-20 confirmations around the world. One user found a log entry: “Couldn’t find the hash of component: NetFx4-PenIMC” So I guess, the package is damaged/botched internally. I summed it up with the blog post .Net Framework: Update KB4340558 drops error 0x80092004?. Guess MS need to have a look into the package. Gru?/greetings G.
