I was laying in bed last night thinking about the Internet (wow...I am a geek), and all of these fads that come and go. Rick Rolling being one of the most recent. Before that we had, and still have today, odd videos being submitted to youtube, which are then re-done over and over by countless other people. "I like turtles" being another. The list goes on and on. But why do we do this? Why do we feel so compelled to follow somebody else so easily? Curious about your guys' thoughts on the psychology behind this and why the internet population is so easily manipulated to do strange things. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Has anybody ever managed to embed word in a .NET application?* Our customer want to be able to view a mailmerge doc created by us in word, but then track whether the user printed it or not. The only solution we can come up with is to create the document, somehow show it embedded in out app, and then fire off the print through our app (so we can tell it's been printed). Anybody done anything like this before?* I found a few shareware ActiveX controls for embedding word viewers, anyone used anything like this? Herbie More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7343027.stm Some people will slate my opinion, but I think teachers are of more value than bank managers, so they should be paid more. I would say they should be afforded the same status and pay as doctors. Teachers look after your intellectual health as opposed to your physical. Their impact from 'day one', on you is life-long. In light of this, an impartial view would be that all learning is good (even Mcdonalds A Levels). Reading books by Herman Hesse is as welcome as reading ones by Barabara Cartland. Personally speaking, I think that this and a whole host of other academic qualifications are a load of codswallop! Like Barbara Cartland's books. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Hello, I managed to get Team Foundation Server working before once on Windows Server 2008 I think that only took me about 5 hours, but I had to re-install Windows and my God it's not having any of it now. Ok heres the problem: I've installed Team Foundation Server and Sql Server and Sharepoint. Cool, no problems there. Now*when I come to create a new team project I get a permission error about reporting services.*My server is called "SERVER" so when I type into IE http://server/Reports or http://server/reportserver I get: * The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002) (rsRPCError) Get Online Help Online help says: * * Details ID: rsRPCError********************************************* Source: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ErrorStrings********************************************* *** We're sorry There is no additional information about this issue in the Error and Event Log Messages or Knowledge Base databases at this time. You can use the links in the Support area to determine whether any additional information might be available elsewhere.* * So my reporting services is broken, ok fair enough i'll re-install it I come to Uninstall SQL Server 2005 now Windows Server 2008 tells me it's not installed and would I like to remove it from the add remote programs list? Ok so I can't uninstall sql server, sharepoint works and TFS works but I cant create a project till reporting services is working. So after 8 and 1/2 hours of trying to install it i'm wondering if anybody can tell me how to fix this? Or if I should get a refund on Server 2008 and go back to Server 2003? Any help would be great, Rob (Drinking from the bottle) More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
